- Coordinate all domestic and international freight for Energy Solutions including heavy haul, oversize/overweight, LTL, FTL, rail, sea, and specialized equipment transport.
- Solicit and evaluate freight quotes; negotiate rates and terms & conditions with carriers and freight brokers.
- Working with the Energy Solution EPC Team, Plan and schedule deliveries to align with project construction schedules and site readiness.
- Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, state permitting requirements, and route restrictions for oversize loads.
- Track shipments from origin to destination; proactively resolve delays or freight-related issues.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to confirm shipment readiness, packaging, and documentation.
- Prepare and maintain bills of lading, shipping documentation, freight logs, and cost tracking reports.
- Work with project managers, engineers and site teams to manage deliveries and minimize laydown congestion.
- Monitor freight spend and support cost forecasting and reporting.
- Support claims management for damaged or lost freight.
- Oversee daily operations of the main yard facility, including receiving, inspection, staging, storage, and outbound shipments.
- Ensure proper material handling and storage practices to protect equipment and maintain quality standards.
- Provide accurate inventory records and material tracking systems to management.
- Coordinate and perform loading and unloading activities.
- Coordinate crane scheduling and rigging requirements.
- Manage yard layout to optimize space utilization and material flow.
- Work closely with EHS & QA manager and Director of Operations to ensure compliance with company safety standards and OSHA regulations within the yard.
- Conduct routine yard inspections to maintain organization, housekeeping, and safe working conditions.
- Coordinate outbound shipments from the yard to project sites.
- Support project material returns, surplus handling, and demobilization logistics.
- Work closely with Procurement and Retail Manager to align on delivery schedules with supplier commitments.
- Support Project Managers/Engineers with logistics planning during project kickoff and execution phases.
- Coordinate with Site Construction Managers to align field delivery sequencing.
- Interface with Energy Solutions Business Administration for freight accruals and cost tracking.
- Work on other projects throughout Energy Solutions as designated by Procurement and Retail Manager.
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or related equivalent experience is required.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in freight coordination, logistics, or yard coordination within construction, energy/power, heavy industrial, or EPC environments is required.
- Experience operating forklifts, telehandlers, etc. is preferred.
- Experience coordinating large industrial components (generators, turbines, transformers, structural steel, etc.) is preferred.
- Experience with heavy haul and oversized equipment transport is preferred.
- Experience with yard operations is preferred.
- Strong verbal, written and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational and scheduling skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to read construction schedules and understand project sequencing.
- Problem-solving mindset with strong attention to detail.
- Commitment to safety and compliance standards.
- Excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills.
- Operate basic office equipment such as computer terminal, copy machines, email, digital camera and the telephone.
- Operate heavy machinery such as forklifts and telehandlers.
- Sit or stand for extended periods.
- Lift up to 50 pounds.
- Safety climb ladder or on equipment in the shop and/or field.
- Working hours are 8 hours per day, 5 days per week.
- Some overtime may be required depending on workload and project requirements.
- Weekend on call as needed.
- Some travel by automobile and air required, with occasional overnight stay.
- Operate a company vehicle requiring a valid driver’s license (driving record must meet company insurance standards and is reviewed annually).
