Overview
The Dairy/Frozen Assistant supports the Dairy/Frozen Manager in the successful operation and profitability of the department. Applications are accepted until 09/03/2025, which may be extended.
Responsibilities
Providing excellent customer service as a top priority.Adhering to all policies with integrity, responsibility, and excellence.Creating inviting and well-stocked departments.Assisting with ordering and maintaining inventory for dairy and frozen products.Managing margins, COGs, and overall profitability, including minimizing shrinkage.Ensuring products meet company standards and managing special orders.Merchandising and maintaining shelves, displays, and backstock.Training and supervising department staff, including task management.Conducting demos and addressing performance issues.Supporting store opening/closing, cash handling, and register functions.Maintaining safety and security for customers and staff.Responding to customer inquiries and increasing product knowledge.Using SAP and other inventory management software.Working a schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and holidays, totaling 40 hours/week.This role has limited Manager on Duty responsibilities but is not the overall manager.All employees are expected to perform any tasks necessary to support the company's success.
Qualifications
High School diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.At least 1 year of retail or grocery experience; natural foods background is a plus.Experience supervising others is preferred.Ability to pass food safety training and maintain certifications.Ability to adapt to changing priorities and stay focused.Excellent customer service skills, organized, and detail-oriented.Cashier trained with currency counting skills.Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.This description is not a contract and may change.
