As the Associate Director you will have oversight of operations, quality, safety, experience of patients and staff for Neurology Progressive Care. This stroke certified unit provides specialty care for neurology patients, including stroke, neurological conditions, seizure patients primarily, but does care for patients with other diagnosis requiring a higher level of care.  This role is instrumental in assisting and facilitating care of not only the patients admitted on the Neuro unit, but other patients requiring neurological services in ICU, and other inpatient units.

We utilize tele neurology services for 24hr neurology care. The staff of the unit are trained as PCU level staff with a more acute/higher level nursing needs focus.

Being a leadership position the worked hours for this role are typically Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:00pm but may vary based on the need of the facility including the possibility of evenings, nights, weekends, holidays. This role will also join the Nursing Administrator on call rotation.

POSITION SUMMARY  This position provides managerial and clinical support to patients and staff. Uses depth and breadth of clinical management knowledge to ensure the provision of high quality, safe, and cost effective patient care. Demonstrates clinical expertise and oversees the leadership of clinical, financial, and personnel management of the assigned areas.
CORE FUNCTIONS  
1. Manages and facilitates patient centered nursing care for designated patient populations by serving as a real-time clinical expert for unit staff and physicians for escalated problem-solving on patients, processes, and family issues. Manages the operations of the unit to ensure smooth and efficient patient care management and resource utilization.
2. Leads change by developing, implementing and evaluating quality and process improvement initiatives of the department in conjunction with the director. Seeks and utilizes input from staff and oversees change implementation. Ensures compliance with appropriate regulatory agencies.
