Position summary:
The Permitting Manager will be responsible for the development and submission of the regulatory applications required to advance Ur‑Energy projects through initial permitting through continued operations, ensuring compliance with rules and regulations governing Ur‑Energy operations. The role will work closely with the technical disciplines within Ur‑Energy to ensure successful operations are met that meet all regulatory requirements.

- Prepare, compile, and submit permitting applications, environmental impact assessments, technical reports, and associated documentation to state and federal agencies consistent with applicable regulations governing ISR uranium mining.
- Direct strategic framing, technical quality, and regulatory consistency for all regulatory submittals.
- Ensure environmental analyses and permitting products are complete, defensible, and traceable to engineering inputs, licensing assumptions, and site characterization data.
- Lead agency‑engagement strategies and support senior leadership in high‑visibility meetings, ensuring interactions align with approved regulatory positions and project strategies.
- Serve as a lead point of contact with regulatory agencies, including the state agencies. Maintain productive relationships with agency personnel.
- Own the environmental and permitting basis (assumptions, datasets, analyses, mitigation commitments, and compliance strategies) and maintain coherence across all submittals.
- Convert company objectives into permitting plans and multi‑agency schedules coordinating with key stakeholders.
- Monitor changes in regulatory requirements, particularly related to uranium ISR mining, and ensure that all site operations maintain compliance with updated standards.
- Maintain accurate records and reports related to compliance, inspection, and permitting.
- Collaborate with internal teams including geology, engineering, health and safety, and operations to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and permitting conditions.
- Advise project teams on permitting timelines, requirements, and any regulatory constraints impacting project milestones.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure that operational practices align with permitting conditions and environmental regulations.
- Identify potential compliance issues, propose corrective actions, and track implementation.
- Ability to understand and navigate regulations at both State and Federal levels as it pertains to Company activities.
- Interfaces with company management, contractors, vendors and government agencies in a professional manner.

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science or engineering or other related discipline with a minimum of 10 years work experience.
- Excellent communication skills including the ability to write clear and concise reports and to present technical information in an understandable format to non‑technical audiences.
- Strong knowledge of NRC, EPA, and state regulations specific to ISR uranium mining operations.
- Able to effectively convey performance expectations ensuring accountability for results across team members.
- Demonstrated critical thinking abilities, problem‑solving skills, and continuous improvement‑oriented mindset.
- Good understanding of environmental policy, monitoring and compliance, and reporting as it pertains to uranium recovery operations.
- Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and to prioritize and balance sometimes heavy workloads to achieve goals while keeping up with a highly mobile and changing environment.
- Demonstrated proficiency in managing daily tasks and longer‑term activities against deadlines, safety requirements and quality standards.
