The classified substitute consists of three roles: a clerical substitute, instructional substitute, and cafeteria substitute.
SUBSTITUTE-CLASSIFIED CAFETERIAThe job of Substitute-Classified Cafeteria was established to assist in food preparation and service in the absence of the regular NCSD employee. Responsibilities include preparing and serving food to students and staff, and maintaining food service facilities in a safe and sanitary condition. This is a non-benefited, temporary position. Potential regular positions include Cafeteria Technician, Cafeteria Preparation Technician, and Cafeteria Specialist.
SUBSTITUTE- CLASSIFIED CLERICAL
The job of Substitute - Classified Clerical was created to support administrative functions in the absence of regular NCSD staff. Duties involve performing secretarial and clerical tasks as directed by an Administrator or Manager. This is a non-benefited, temporary role. Regular positions that may be substituted include Receptionist, Office and Records Assistant, Secretary, Administrative Specialist, Administrative Assistant, and Executive Assistant to the Superintendent.
SUBSTITUTE- CLASSIFIED INSTRUCTIONAL SUPPORT
The role of Substitute - Classified Instructional Support was established to assist in monitoring and instructing students in various areas, including supporting students with special health care and language needs. Responsibilities also include clerical support for teachers, ensuring student safety and welfare, enforcing district rules, and maintaining a healthy learning environment. This is a non-benefited, temporary position. Potential regular positions include Bus Assistant-Special Needs, Education Support Personnel, Education Support Specialist, Elementary Library/Media Technician, and Campus Security Officer.
Education: High school graduation or GED required.
