The ideal candidate will possess advanced knowledge in dimensional measurement, quality control processes, and the ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD models. You will work closely with the design team to design fixtures that are functional, accurate, efficient, and cost-effective.
Responsibilities- Blueprint & CAD Interpretation:
Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, CAD models, and other design documents to ensure proper measurements and tolerances are understood and adhered to in the production process. - Fixture Integration:
Understand how fixtures integrate with other manufacturing equipment, robots, conveyors, and tools, ensuring smooth operation across the assembly line. - Process Flow and Ergonomics:
Design fixtures that align with the assembly line's process flow, ensuring they are easy to use for operators and that they do not create bottlenecks. - Work with cross‑functional teams to recommend, evaluate, and make design and process improvement proposals.
- Work closely with design and manufacturing engineers to develop, validate, and incorporate Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) requirements.
- Collaboration:
Provide technical input on design feasibility, manufacturability, and dimensional considerations to design, manufacturing, and engineering teams. - GD&T Application:
Interpret and apply GD&T standards to fixture design, ensuring parts fit and function according to precise dimensional specifications. - Tolerance Stack‑up Analysis:
Evaluate and minimize tolerance stack‑ups in fixture design, affecting final assembly quality and performance.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, STEM or related field, or equivalent relevant education and experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a dimensional engineering role, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong level GD&T qualification.
- Software
