The Powertrain Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing all maintenance activities across the Powertrain Maintenance operation during the night shift and day shift, including Battery, Drive Unit, and Power Electronics. This leader ensures equipment availability, reliability, and safe operation to support uninterrupted production. The role requires strong technical knowledge, hands‑on problem solving, and effective alignment with day‑shift maintenance and operations leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • End‑to‑End Oversight: Lead all night‑shift maintenance activities across Powertrain lines (Battery, Drive Unit, Power Electronics).
  • Equipment Availability: Ensure equipment uptime meets or exceeds ≥75% availability target to support production JPH goals.
  • Preventive & Predictive Maintenance: Oversee execution of PM and PdM schedules, ensuring compliance and addressing gaps.
  • Rapid Response & Troubleshooting: Lead structured problem solving (5‑Why, RCA, PFMEA, 8D) to resolve breakdowns and reduce repeat failures.
  • Team Development: Mentor and coach night‑shift maintenance supervisors, technicians, and contractors to build technical depth and reliability discipline.
  • Cross‑Shop Coordination: Partner with Operations, Engineering, TPM, and IE to resolve chronic issues and plan corrective actions.
  • Standardization: Enforce consistent maintenance practices, documentation, and reporting across all Powertrain areas.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure safe maintenance practices, LOTO compliance, and adherence to company and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Maintenance Management, or related field (preferred).
  • 8+ years of experience in high‑volume manufacturing maintenance, with 3+ years in a leadership role.
  • Proven success in improving equipment uptime, reliability, and maintenance cost performance.
  • Strong knowledge of automated equipment, robotics, controls, and industrial systems.
  • Expertise in lean maintenance practices, TPM, and reliability engineering.
  • Excellent leadership, decision‑making, and communication skills in fast‑paced environments.
  • Prior experience in automotive, aerospace, or advanced manufacturing preferred.
  • Ability to work a night‑shift schedule and lead independently with minimal direct oversight.
Additional Compensation and Benefits

Lucid offers a wide range of competitive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, vacation, and 401k. The successful candidate may also be eligible to participate in Lucid’s equity program and/or a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing such programs.
