Job SummaryThe Rendering Piece Rate Driver (PCRT) is responsible for transporting raw materials from designated pickup sites to the rendering facility in a timely, safe, and professional manner. This role supports the rendering operation by ensuring steady product flow and adhering to company and regulatory standards. Drivers are compensated based on loads delivered, encouraging efficiency while upholding safety and biosecurity expectations.

Monday - Friday | 5:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Saturday depending on shift rotation and business needs)

- Safely operate manual or automatic diesel-powered trucks to collect and deliver raw animal by-products from internal and external collection points.
- Maintain accurate records of loads, pickup/drop-off times, and route details for each trip completed.
- Communicate proactively with dispatch to confirm loads, routing, and updates on delivery times.
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle is compliant with DOT standards and company safety protocols.
- Maintain awareness of load temperature, leakage, and secure containment to prevent environmental or safety hazards.
- Adhere strictly to biosecurity protocols and all rendering safety requirements, including avoiding contact with avian species.
- Assist rendering and loadout teams when needed to ensure uninterrupted operations.
- Work in hot, wet, cold, dusty, or odor-intensive environments typical of a rendering facility.
- Keep assigned vehicle and equipment clean and in good working order.
- Complete other duties as assigned by management based on rendering operations demand.
- Must pass both urine and hair follicle drug tests.
- Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 5 years of verifiable truck driving experience.
- Familiarity with DOT regulations including Hours of Service (HOS), inspections, and log maintenance.
- Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs. and climb ladders as needed for equipment inspections.
- Must be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays if business needs demand.
- Able to communicate effectively with dispatch, plant personnel, and external stakeholders.
- Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and prioritize safety.
- Must be able to work in rendering environments with strong odors and biological materials.
- Willingness to undergo background and drug screening in accordance with Tyson policy.
