Prepare for the Prep Cook (Glenaire) position at Kintura

Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Learn to read menus to estimate food requirements and order food from suppliers or procure it from storage.
- Prepare and cook food in accordance with company production records and standardized recipes.
- Adjust thermostat controls to regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, roasters, and steam kettles under instruction.
- Measure and mix ingredients according to recipe, using a variety of kitchen utensils and equipment.
- Bake, roast, broil, and steam meats, fish, vegetables, and other foods under guidance. Add seasoning during mixing or cooking as instructed.
- Observe and test food being cooked by tasting, smelling, and piercing with a fork to confirm doneness.
- Carve meat, portion food on serving plates, and add gravies, sauces, and garnishes to fill orders as directed.
- Wash, peel, cut, and shred vegetables and fruits for use.
- Butcher chickens, fish, and shellfish as directed.
- Bake bread, rolls, cakes, and pastry as training permits.
- Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and presentable manner. Follow sanitation and safety principles for food and equipment handling.
- Represent the company in a courteous, efficient, and friendly manner in all customer and employee interactions.
- Ensure compliance with company service standards, inventory and cash control procedures.
- Perform other functions and duties as assigned.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple English instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to present information effectively in one‑on‑one and small group settings to customers, clients, and employees.
- Food Handler’s Permit and Serv Safe Certification (required by applicable state and county).
