Cary Veterinary Hospital, a small animal general practice in Cary, NC, is seeking an experienced or new graduate Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT, LVT, or CVT) to join our close‑knit, collaborative medical team. - Assist veterinarians during exams, providing safe and effective restraint.
- Prepare and administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed.
- Perform routine dental cleanings and administer anesthesia under veterinarian supervision.
- Monitor anesthesia and provide post‑operative care.
- Obtain diagnostic radiographs with proper positioning and technique.
- Perform lab tests (blood, urine, feces) to support diagnosis and treatment.
- Perform venipuncture, place IV catheters, and administer injections (IV, IM, SQ).
- Assist with surgery preparation, including shaving surgical sites and placing IV catheters.
- Maintain clean exam and treatment areas.
- Support client education and proper medical record keeping.
- Certification as a Veterinary Technician (RVT, LVT, CVT)
- Minimum of 1 year of experience preferred; new graduates with passion and drive are welcome to apply!
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to handle and restrain animals safely, including aggressive animals.
- Professional, compassionate, and adaptable.
- Comfortable with the emotional and physical demands of a veterinary clinic, including euthanasia.
- Commitment to continuing education and professional growth.
- Experience with Avimark is a plus.
- Salary: $20–$24/hr based on experience (open to negotiation)
