Mac Gregor Downs Country Club features one of the finest racquet sports facilities in North Carolina, with eight (8) Har-Tru clay courts
, one (1) hard tennis court

. Our team is dedicated to maintaining championship-level playing conditions and delivering a warm, member-focused experience each day.
We are seeking a dependable and motivated Clay Court Maintenance Technician to join our Racquet Sports Operations team. The technician is responsible for the daily upkeep, grooming, and preparation of our clay courts and surrounding facilities. Ideal candidates enjoy working outdoors, take pride in their work, and demonstrate excellent communication and hospitality skills.
No prior clay court experience is required—training will be provided on-site.
- Operate a golf cart equipped with a 6-foot drag brush to groom and level Har-Tru clay courts.
- Water, brush, and line courts to maintain optimal playing conditions.
- Safely operate gas-powered leaf blowers, hammers, and other hand tools for general maintenance.
- Refill and maintain water coolers with ice and clean water daily.
- Empty trash bins and ensure the court facilities and walkways remain clean and presentable.
- Assist with small repairs and clay topdressing as directed by the Racquet Sports team.
- Identify and report maintenance or safety concerns to the Director of Racquet Sports.
- Maintain professional communication and hospitality when interacting with members and staff.
- Follow all club policies and safety procedures while on duty.
- Ability to safely operate a golf cart and basic maintenance equipment.
- Proficient in English with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Displays professionalism, hospitality, and a positive attitude at all times.
- Able to use gas-powered leaf blowers, hammers, and other tools.
- Physically able to lift up to 30 lbs. and perform outdoor work in various weather conditions.
- Reliable and punctual, with the ability to work morning, midday, or evening shifts as needed.
- Willingness to learn and maintain high standards for court presentation and safety.
- Hands-on training provided for all equipment and procedures.
