The Data Access team is looking for a C Software Developer (Emerging Career) who'll work on standardizing and simplifying data source connectivity on the Viya platform for SAS solutions. Our team works heavily with third-party databases, requiring us to stay up to date on industry standards, use latest technology, and be creative with our implementations.

• Design and develop high-quality, testable, and scalable software solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across R&D and product management to ensuretimelyand successful delivery.
• Participate in project scoping, scheduling, and progress tracking; proactively identifying, reporting, and resolving blockers.
• Ensure code quality and reliability through comprehensive testing (unit, integration, regression), automation, and ownership across the software lifecycle.
• Contribute to technical documentation and provide support to internal and external users through clear APIs, examples, and collaboration with technical writers.
• Embrace continuous improvement and innovation in tools, processes, and code quality.
• Ensure all applicable security policies and processes are followed to support the organization’s secure software development goals.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related quantitative field.
• Minimum2years of experience in software development.
• Experience working with programming languages such as Python, Java, Go,Rustor C/C++.
• Demonstratedproficiencyin

• Experience utilizing
  
  SQL to query, analyze, and manipulate data across relational databases (e.g., Postgre
  
  SQL, MySQL, SQL Server).
• Strong understanding of concepts related to data structures, and programming practices.
• Clear understanding of the product development life cycle and project management.
• Strong ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with all levels of staff.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and change direction quickly.
• Equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.

  Excellent communication skills with ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Technology Savvy:
  
  Stay current with emerging security threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices, applying this knowledge to strengthen our platforms

• Experience with Kubernetes and Docker.
• Experience working with Git.
• Basic understanding of Linux.
• Knowledge of cloud technologies and experience in AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience with SAS products, solutions, and programming language.
