IT Project Manager with banking/financial domain

Cary, NC – onsite

• Manage end-to-end delivery of banking technology projects, including application development, system modernization, data, infrastructure, and regulatory initiatives
• Partner closely with business, technology, risk, compliance, and security teams
• Develop detailed project plans covering scope, timelines, milestones, dependencies, and resources
• Ensure projects adhere to banking regulatory, risk, and compliance requirements
• Track project progress, manage risks/issues, and provide executive-level status reporting
• Drive governance processes including approvals, audits, and documentation
• Coordinate SDLC activities across Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery models
• Manage vendor and third-party deliverables where applicable
• Handle change management, impact assessments, and scope control
• Facilitate project meetings, sprint ceremonies, and stakeholder reviews
• Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, security, and data governance standards

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field
• 10+ years of experience as a Technical Project Manager in banking or financial services
• Strong understanding of banking systems, transaction processing, data security, and regulatory controls
• Hands-on experience with Agile/Scrum, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage senior leadership
• Proficiency with tools such as Jira, Confluence, MS Project, or similar
