Swoon is partnering with a leading company in the heavy equipment industry to find a skilled Technical Business Systems Analyst for their Cary, NC office. This hybrid position offers the flexibility of working three days per week in the office and is initially a one-year contract with a high potential for extension or conversion based on performance. In this role, you will lead the translation of complex business requirements into data-driven solutions.

Position’s Contributions to Work Group
:

• We are seeking a skilled Technical Business Analyst to lead the translation of complex business requirements into technical solutions within our data analytics projects.
• This role is pivotal in ensuring that our data-driven initiatives align with segment and business unit objectives and are executed efficiently across cross-functional data domains and teams, including onshore, nearshore, and offshore collaborators.
• The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical acumen and business insight, facilitating seamless integration of data solutions into our business processes.

Typical task breakdown:

• Business Requirements Gathering & Analysis
• Engage with stakeholders across departments to identify and document business challenges that can be addressed through data analytics.
• Conduct comprehensive analyses of existing business processes to pinpoint areas for improvement and data integration.
• Develop detailed business cases and process models to support data-driven decision-making.
• Translation of Business Needs into Technical Specifications
• Convert business requirements into clear technical specifications, ensuring alignment with data architecture and governance standards.
• Collaborate with data engineering teams to design data models, ETL processes, and integration strategies that support analytics objectives.
• Define and document technical requirements, calculations, etc., for data products - datasets/data views, data visualizations.
• Cross-Functional & Global Team Collaboration:
• Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, fostering effective communication and collaboration.
• Coordinate with onshore, nearshore, and offshore teams, ensuring that project timelines and quality standards are met across all regions.
• Maintain alignment among globally distributed teams.

Interaction with team
:

• Working with Global teams, across various time zones and in India.
• Total of 10 folks on team and who they will working with directly.
• Highly visible project, working with peers and leadership.

Education & Experience Required:

• Bachelor’s degree is a nice to have, not required. But must have at least 8+ years experience in this capacity.
• Bachelor’s degree must have minimum 5+ years experience.
• Master’s degree must have a minimum 5+ years experience.

Technical Skills:

(Required)

• Worked in the manufacturing industry but worked in Data Domains.
• They need to understand data analytics technology.
• 5+ years of experience in business analysis, with a focus on data analytics or business intelligence projects.
• Proven experience working with global teams, including offshore and nearshore collaborators.
• Proficiency in SQL and experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI).
• Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, data modeling, and ETL processes (e.g., Snowflake)

Soft Skills:

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, and vice-versa.
• Ability to work with onshore, offshore and nearshore technical and business teams.
• Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, intellectual curiosity and self-motivated
• Experience working within the manufacturing industry - focused on related data domains, such as but limited to, operations, supply chain, marketing, etc.
