Who we are looking for You will do

The Lead, Medical Communications is a senior member of the Medical Affairs team responsible for leading Medical Information and Communications strategy and execution for the AIR Business Unit. This role provides strategic input, launch readiness oversight, medical review of promotional and non-promotional material, cross-functional alignment, and advanced scientific exchange communications development for the respiratory portfolio.

It is strongly preferred that candidates live within commutable distance to Cary, North Carolina; however, candidates in other areas may be considered. Travel for this position can range from 15% to 30%, depending on proximity to Cary.

You’ll be responsible for
  • Medical Information
    • Manage Medical Information Requests (MIRs) for the Air Business Unit at Chiesi USA
    • Provide oversight of MIR processes, systems, and quality assurance
    • Lead insight generation from MIR trends and metrics to inform medical strategy
    • Ensure development of scientifically rigorous and aligned medical information resources
    • Support medical information booth and scientific insight gathering at congresses; provide Medical Affairs team with knowledge and intelligence from scientific congresses and literature
  • Medical Review of Promotional & Non‑Promotional Communications
    • Responsible for managing the Medical Review Board (MRB) for all Air Business Unit drug products at Chiesi USA; including but not limited to the development, review and/or approval medical affairs materials (Standard Response Documents, Slide Decks, Publication Summaries, etc)
    • Serve as lead medical reviewer on Promotional Review Board (PRB) for all Air Business Unit drug product commercial communication materials
    • Ensure scientific accuracy, compliance, and strategic alignment of reviewed materials
    • Contribute to publication planning and review with cross-functional Air Medical Affairs team
  • General Medical Affairs & Communications
    • Direct communication strategy and tactical planning across AIR portfolio including pre‑launch and launch assets, including field medical, reactive, proactive, and digital content creation
    • Participate in the development and success of the medical communications function within medical affairs, to include business process management, systems optimization, vendor oversight and digital innovation
    • Contribute to scientific messaging, publications planning, and congress strategy
You will need to have

• Pharm

D, PhD, MD, or equivalent advanced scientific degree

• Minimum 8+ years of experience in Medical Communications/Medical Information/Promotional Review/Medical Affairs

• Launch experience

• Strong scientific expertise with ability to synthesize complex data

• Knowledge of medical information and medical affairs standards and regulations relevant to the US

• Exposure to life science business systems (Medical Information Systems, Document Management Systems, Veeva, etc)

• Demonstrated cross-functional leadership and strategic capabilities

• Project planning and organizational skills

• High adaptability in managing shifting priorities and short timelines
