Job SummaryWe are seeking a Medical Assistant, Certified responsible for performing clinical and administrative duties in a primary and specialty outpatient setting. The role includes patient care, clerical support, and environmental and organizational tasks related to physician patient care.
Job Duties And Responsibilities- Patient Care: rooming patients, collecting histories, charting, answering phone calls, completing forms
- Clerical Duties: preparing clinics, obtaining test results, updating charts, verifying insurance, obtaining authorizations, coordinating referrals and appointments
- Exam Room Operations: cleaning exam rooms, ordering and stocking supplies, restocking exam tables, checking for expired supplies and medications, empting sharps containers
- Organizational Duties: promoting patient rights, responding to emergency codes, following HR, Compliance, and Joint Commission policies
- State‑law responsibilities: autoclaving, checking vital signs, suture removal, dressing changes, ordering orders based on physician protocols, biohazard waste, blood drawing, and applying DME to a patient
- Other duties as assigned by manager or clinic leadership
- Cast removal, basic splinting and casting of upper and lower extremities; accurate fitting of DME products
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program (CAAHEP or ABHES) strongly preferred
- High school or GED required
- Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA‑CCMA, NCMA, or ARMA required
- Prior experience in a clinic setting preferred (1 year)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required
