Partnerships Director - Sports & Talent

Epic Games is recruiting a Partnerships Director to lead, grow, and execute key partnerships across the sport industry and talent for our first‑party games. In this role you will source, develop, and execute interactive IP integrations with athletics, teams, leagues, and cultural partners, combining business development, creative deal‑making, and product collaboration to bring authentic sports experiences to life across Epic’s ecosystem.

Responsibilities
  • Lead day‑to‑day engagement with external partners to understand their goals and ensure campaign elements align with partner objectives and Epic’s brand and legal standards.
  • Act as Epic’s external face within the sports industry, building strong relationships with leagues, talent agencies, athletes, and brand partners, and representing Epic at major industry events and summits.
  • Collaborate with Product and Consumer teams to align partnership initiatives with Epic’s broader player, product, and business objectives, influencing product strategy and translating it into actionable roadmaps.
  • Collaborate with development and creative teams to identify, pitch, and translate sports partnership ideas into compelling gameplay offerings for titles such as Fortnite and Rocket League.
  • Direct, source, and negotiate new sports partnerships while managing inbound and outbound licensing opportunities across sports and entertainment.
  • Manage end‑to‑end execution of partnership campaigns, coordinating with cross‑functional teams for timely delivery, asset management, go‑to‑market support, and streamlined partner communication.
  • Collaborate with Epic teams to identify, pitch, and onboard high‑profile partnerships for Fortnite from proposal to launch.
Qualifications
  • 8–10+ years of experience in sports partnerships and talent deal‑making, with a track record of closing and executing high‑profile deals.
  • Deep understanding of the sports and talent landscape—leagues, teams, talent, agencies—with robust knowledge of digital consumer products and gaming culture.
  • Relationships and industry eminence in sports, music, and talent with a sharp POV on creative positioning and storytelling.
  • Experience taking product ideas to vision/pitch, combining strategy, business development, and partnership execution.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to multitask across projects while managing shifting priorities.
  • Judgment, delegation, critical thinking, problem‑solving, and collaboration, especially under pressure.
  • Experience building internal and external partnership overviews, go‑to‑market plans, decks, and recaps preferred.
  • Proven P&L fluency and understanding of the full marketing funnel and analytics involved in licensing activations.
  • Entrepreneurial self‑starter with credibility and momentum across partners and categories.
  • Comfortable with frequent travel (25–40%) for meetings, events, and industry engagements.
Benefits
  • Epic covers 100% of medical, dental, vision HRA, long‑term disability, life insurance, and a 401(k) with competitive match.
  • Robust mental well‑being program through Modern Health, offering free therapy and coaching for employees and dependents.
  • Unlimited PTO and sick time, with paid sabbatical after 7 years of employment.
  • Company‑wide paid breaks and annual events.
