into Your New Role

Kleinfelder is currently seeking an Entry Level Staff Geotechnical Professional to join our team in Raleigh, NC.

The right candidate for this opportunity will be self-motivated and ready to learn. In this position you will assist the Project Engineers/Project Managers and participate in execution of field investigation and potential construction oversight. This position will also assist with review and compilation of geotechnical laboratory and field-testing results, perform geotechnical analyses and report writing.

The responsibilities of the position include, but not limited to the following:
  • Assist the Project Engineers/Project Managers and participate in field assignments including boring layout and utility clearance.
  • Coordinate with drilling contractors, supervise drilling and geotechnical field investigations, log borings and test pits.
  • Assist with lab testing assignment, compilation of lab and field testing results.
  • Perform geotechnical engineering analysis under supervision including soil/rock classification, slope stability analysis, earth retention systems, shallow and deep foundation design, settlement, ground improvement, and geologic hazard evaluation.
  • Assist the Project Engineers/Managers and prepare geotechnical reports.
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Positive work attitude and ability to work safely and efficiently when managing multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work independently or with a team in a multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Power Point preferred.
  • An ability to communicate clearly and effectively with peers, supervisors, clients, and subcontractors.
  • Require 60% to 70% travel.
  • EIT certification.
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • MS Geotechnical Engineering/Geology is a plus.
