We are looking for a passionate, dedicated, and experienced senior HSE professional to support Life Sciences North America (LSNA) in the construction of a large (~$1B+) EPCM pharmaceutical facility in the US, with current active markets being in NC, VA, PA/NJ/DE, and TX. Initially the candidate will work on and travel to existing projects to learn and observe LSNA’s ways of working and expected roles and responsibilities of our HSE Leaders.
In general and as part of our team in the role of HSE leadership, you will provide direct support to the senior project/construction management team leadership, your Regional HSE Manager, and/or the line of business HSE Director for Life Sciences North America (LSNA). You’ll serve as a business partner working with Client HSE and Senior management stakeholders to lead HSE excellence and deliver projects and initiatives in a way to ensure no worker injuries or negative impacts to our client’s business continuity.
We’ll ask you to support Beyond Zero performance that is inclusive of the Line of Business’ (LOB) vision and strategic plans, as well as provide overall leadership, management and direction to the Jacobs team and clients assigned.
We’ll rely on you to take personal ownership and responsibility for protecting people from harm and for driving Jacobs’ strategies and performance while supporting continuous improvement and building alliances with client leadership and Jacobs HSE team members and other stakeholders.
You’ll own and maintain open communication with the HSE Director for Life Sciences North America as well as Jacobs and client leadership, and peer LOB HSE team members to provide professional development and technical resources guidance, to ensure alignment and to assure consistent implementation of HSE process tools that support LOB HSE strategic plans and objectives.
This position will have responsibility for all implementation of LSNA and Jacobs global HSE initiatives, and as it relates to the continuous improvement of HSE practices, compliance to corporate initiatives, and legal and regulatory requirements.
By establishing working relationships, you’ll provide visible support and leadership to all client and project stakeholders by providing interpretation, training, technical review and support, regulatory guidance, and governance oversight to ensure alignment and consistent implementation of the Jacobs HSE program.
This key position will be the champion for driving best practices and continuous improvement efforts for positive motivation, employee development and resource planning that meets or exceeds overall HSE business goals and objectives.
You will work on problems of technical and legal scope requiring critical thinking and interaction with internal and external technical professionals, along with individuals representing official agencies. You will exercise broad judgment within generally defined practices and policies, and you will be considered a primary subject matter expert on all HSE topics.
You’ll be charged to support and/or lead incident notification, investigation and reporting processes, as well as facilitating injury case management and return to work process. You’ll support the development of Jacobs project specific HSE plans, review subcontractor hazard assessments and deliverables, and participate as required in operational readiness reviews, monthly assessments, management system reviews, and/or other forums relevant to project and/or LOB success.
