Staff Geotechnical Professional – Kleinfelder

Locations:

• Raleigh, North Carolina
• Greensboro, North Carolina
• Charlotte, North Carolina

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Assist Project Engineers/Project Managers in field assignments, including boring layout and utility clearance.
• Coordinate with drilling contractors, supervise drilling, and manage geotechnical field investigations.
• Log borings and test pits, and compile lab and field testing results.
• Perform geotechnical engineering analyses under supervision, including soil/rock classification, slope stability analysis, earth retention systems, shallow and deep foundation design, settlement, ground improvement, and geologic hazard evaluation.
• Prepare comprehensive geotechnical reports.

Qualifications:

• Positive work attitude and ability to work safely and efficiently when managing multiple tasks.
• Ability to work independently or with a team in a multi‑disciplinary environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Intermediate knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Effective communication with peers, supervisors, clients, and subcontractors.
• 60% to 70% travel required.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Geological, or Mining Engineering, or Geology.
• MS Geotechnical Engineering/Geology is a plus.
