Staff Structural Designer – Power

• Applies knowledge of standards, systems, document control, departmental guides, applicable codes and company policies and procedures.
• Reviews project requirements and determines correct deliverable format and contents.
• Proactively applies Quality Program to deliverables and supports continuous improvement and change management efforts.
• Reviews design inputs to ensure consistency and ensures compliance with specific codes and standards suitable for the project.
• May define work assignments, maintain schedules, program control systems and participate in plant start‑up activities for specialized area of expertise.
• Coordinates with other design group personnel to review and exchange project information necessary for design development and supports field activities.
• Focuses on the needs of internal clients and understands external client interests and drivers.
• Proactively seeks and shares knowledge of latest technologies and processes, and may apply judgment and make decisions with respect to deliverables and input interpretation.
• Provides guidance to lesser experienced Engineering technicians and mentors, instructs, delegates work and provides feedback.

• Minimum of 5–8 years of related work experience.
• Experience in Structural design is required.
• Experience in electronic applications and programs required for performing assignments (CADD or other electronic applications).
• Intermediate knowledge of engineering standards, systems, document control, departmental guides and company policies and procedures.
• Advanced ability to interpret engineering deliverable content as assigned.
• Intermediate knowledge of other disciplines and basic knowledge of construction and constructability practices and principles.
• Intermediate knowledge of procurement and contract administration.
• Associate Degree in Drafting or an Engineering Design Related Technology or Diploma preferred.
