Join our team as a Project Manager within our Utilities (water/wastewater) practice area. This is a hybrid role based out of our Cary, North Carolina office.
In this role, you will be responsible for developing, calibrating, and analyzing hydraulic models for water distribution and wastewater collection systems. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative, data-driven solutions that enhance system performance, reliability, and resiliency. This position requires strong technical proficiency in hydraulic modeling software, solid project management skills, and the ability to communicate complex concepts effectively to clients and stakeholders.
- Develop, maintain, and calibrate hydraulic models
- Analyze hydraulic model results to evaluate system performance, identify deficiencies, and recommend improvement strategies
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to integrate model data with broader infrastructure planning efforts
- Support system evaluations for master plans, asset inventory assessments, capital improvement programs, and regulatory compliance projects
- Prepare technical reports, memoranda, and presentations to clearly communicate findings and recommendations to clients and regulatory agencies
- Assist in proposal development, scope definition, budgeting, and client coordination for modeling-related projects
- Manage tasks and deliverables across multiple active projects while ensuring technical quality and timeliness

- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
- Licensed Professional Engineer
- 7+ years of engineering/industry experience with demonstrated team management experience
- Self-motivated, engaged, and team-oriented with the ability to work independently under minimal supervision
- Strong leadership and project management skills as well as excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Knowledge of contracts, accounting principles, including budgeting and forecasting
- Proficiency in hydraulic modeling software, including Water
GEMS, Water
CAD, Sewer
GEMS, Sewer
CAD, and PCSWM - Experience with ArcGIS and AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Proven track record of fostering existing client relationships
- Energetic, flexible, confident, and forward thinking
- Experience with common statistical programming languages such as R or Python (preferred but not required)
- Experience with wastewater process modeling software like Bio Win (preferred but not required)
