This is a full‑time staff position open to qualified candidates who are U.S. citizens and can relocate to our headquarters in Overland Park, KS, or one of our regional offices (Ann Arbor, MI; Chattanooga, TN; Cary, NC; Gaithersburg, MD). - Function as a Technical Specialist or Project Lead, guiding and supporting cross‑disciplinary project teams.
- Develop design change packages for operating nuclear plant facilities and deliver sustainable solutions.
- Produce electrical drawings such as one‑line and three‑line diagrams, motor schematics, wiring diagrams, and power cable schedules.
- Perform complex engineering calculations (load flow, short circuit, motor starting, arc‑flash analysis, relay settings, battery sizing).
- Develop equipment specifications and Bills of Materials (BOM) for procurement and construction.
- Create manpower budgets and schedules for projects and proposals.
- Attend on‑site meetings, investigate existing conditions, and interface with clients during construction.
- Utilize Microsoft Office systems, Project Wise, ETAP, SKM, and AutoCAD for engineering design.
- Provide guidance on design guides, standards, and engineering codes, and maintain or update engineering standards.
- Apply B&V quality program, establish related processes, and promote continuous improvement.
- Prepare complex engineering deliverables for multi‑disciplinary projects and conduct research for equipment selection.
- Prepare engineering calculations, manage project budgets and schedules, and devise advanced solutions for technical challenges.
- Coordinate with internal and external teams, define project schedules, and communicate client interests.
- Support business development activities and anticipate future client needs.
- Serve as a technical specialist, deliver advanced engineering concepts, and lead multiple projects.
- Mentor lower and mid‑level professionals and participate in performance management.
- Professional Engineer (PE) licensed in Kansas, state of primary residence, or other required states.
- Project Lead experience and technical SME in nuclear plant design.
- Experience designing nuclear power plant facilities or similar power generation infrastructure.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited program.
- Minimum of 11 years related work experience.
- Ability to complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements (background check, drug screen, motor vehicle records).
