PositionTechnical Specialist – Nuclear Power Plant Design
Employment TypeFull‑time, Staff – Individual Contributor
Location / RelocationU.S. – flexible to any office. Relocation eligible.
Core Responsibilities- Lead the design of steel and reinforced concrete structural systems for nuclear power plant projects.
- Develop advanced engineering calculations and support equipment selection.
- Prepare technical specifications, scope documents, and construction drawings.
- Provide technical guidance to project teams and supervise lower‑level staff.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders on moderately complex projects.
- Ensure compliance with Black & Veatch quality, safety, and environmental programs.
- Participate in business development activities and client engagements.
- Document and promote best practices and lessons learned across the organization.
- Significant design experience at nuclear power plants.
- Experience writing construction specifications and scope documents.
- Familiarity with nuclear document design verification.
- Proficiency in software: RISA‑3D, STAAD‑PRO, GT‑STRUDEL, ANSYS.
- Knowledge of code experience: ASME Section III & XI, AISC 15th Edition, ACI 318 & 349.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited program.
- Minimum 5 years of related work experience.
- Entry‑level engineering registration or licensure to support an engineer of record (EOR) is required.
- Ability to complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements (criminal background check, drug screen, motor vehicle records search, etc.).
Active engineering registration or licensure supporting engineer of record (EOR).
Work Environment & Physical Demands- Hybrid or flexible work options available after the first 90 days.
- Travel to project sites as required.
- Physically capable of reading, writing, and using standard office equipment.
