Responsibilities- Develop start‑up and commissioning plans for utility systems (generation and distribution).
- Generate and execute start‑up and commissioning documents according to Good Documentation Practices (GDPs).
- Start‑up equipment in a safe and effective manner.
- Develop and implement lock‑out/tag‑out (LOTO) plans.
- Facilitate meetings of the utilities team.
- Maintain action item lists and engineering change‑control logs.
- Provide technical assistance and input.
- Coordinate OEM service technicians as needed.
- Apply engineering knowledge of HVAC, utilities, electrical and electrical backup systems, instrumentation, controls, and automation to support clients.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- At least 8 years of start‑up and commissioning experience.
- Understanding of Good Documentation Practices (GDPs).
- Experience performing walk‑downs with sub‑contractors and clients to drive punch‑list closure.
- Flexibility and willingness to travel to various client locations.
This position will require traveling from North Carolina to South Carolina.
Ideally you’ll have- Commissioning experience.
- EIDA experience.
- Ability to work well with diverse, multidisciplinary groups.
- Effective communication skills with management and fellow project team members.
- Negotiation and compromise skills to achieve project goals.
- Listening and conflict‑resolution skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
