Join a team where your expertise matters, your leadership makes an impact, and every day brings a new challenge across a wide variety of land development and infrastructure projects throughout the Southeast.

As a Land Survey Crew Chief, you'll take the lead in managing field operations, guiding a small crew, and ensuring precision, safety, and efficiency across multiple project types. This is a great opportunity for someone who loves working outdoors, values autonomy, and thrives in a role where no two days feel the same.

What You'll Do

Lead and coordinate a dedicated field survey crew, organizing daily priorities and ensuring work is completed accurately and efficiently.

Collect high-quality field data using total stations, GPS, and data collectors, ensuring compliance with project requirements and regulatory standards.

Review survey evidence such as deeds, plats, maps, and previous records to support accurate boundary and control establishment.

Determine proper methodologies for establishing or reestablishing survey control on a variety of sites.

Maintain detailed notes, logs, sketches, and documentation of daily field activities.

Attend project meetings, coordinate findings with engineers and clients, and support clear communication across all stakeholders.

Oversee equipment maintenance, ensuring instruments are in proper working condition.

Complete safety documentation and ensure crew members follow all safety procedures.

Assist in reviewing completed survey data with office staff to confirm accuracy and completeness.

What You Bring

3+ years of progressive survey field experience, with at least 2 years as an Instrument Operator.

Strong knowledge of survey practices, measurements, leveling, sighting, and data collection.

Proficiency using field equipment such as total stations, data collectors, and GPS units.

Excellent attention to detail with a methodical, consistent work style.

Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to work independently when needed.

Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Willingness to travel regionally, including occasional overnight trips.

Who You Are

You're steady, reliable, and precise - the kind of person who takes pride in getting things right the first time. You enjoy working outdoors, leading by example, and collaborating with others to deliver top-tier results. You're structured, organized, and naturally driven to solve problems in the field.
