Position:
Lead Teacher at The Growing Years of Cary, licensed childcare center.

Pay

Base pay range: $17.00/hr - $19.00/hr actual pay based on skills and experience.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma.
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in early childhood education, or at least 12 credits of early childhood education or equivalent.
  • Ability to pass all background checks.
  • Preferred: previous experience working with infants or pre‑K.
  • Shift: Monday to Friday.

Hiring Process
  • Resume screen.
  • Phone screen with recruiter (30 minutes).
  • On‑site interview with Center Director (30–60 minutes): Q&A, classroom observation.

  • Responsibilities
    • Prepare lesson plans one week in advance using current curriculum guides.
    • Implement lesson plans/curriculum weekly covering all child development areas; use parent communication app efficiently.
    • Establish professional rapport with each family to deliver quality care.
    • Ensure safety and wellbeing of each child, respond to emotional needs; maintain a clean, safe, and appropriately decorated classroom.
    • Maintain child assessment and portfolio; conduct biannual parent/teacher conferences in November and May.
    • Physical ability: sit, stand, walk, run, climb stairs; lift up to 40 lbs.; meet all physical requirements.
    • Carry out daily classroom responsibilities relating to children’s care.
