Position SummaryThe Division of Hospital Pediatrics at the University of North Carolina is recruiting an open‑rank pediatric hospitalist on the fixed‑term track. Primary clinical responsibilities will include in‑house day, evening, and night coverage with direct patient care, supervision of residents and fellows, and teaching of medical students at North Carolina Children’s Hospital (NCCH). Patients will include general pediatrics, newborn nursery, bone marrow transplant, and co‑management with other pediatric specialties.
North Carolina Children’s Hospital is one of the leading tertiary care providers in the Southeast with a full range of specialty and surgical care. The Division of Hospital Pediatrics is a busy and diverse inpatient group that includes 24/7 coverage of inpatient pediatric and newborn nursery services in Chapel Hill. The faculty are academically productive in many areas including medical education, quality improvement and patient safety, and there is a strong culture of collaboration, cooperation and mentorship.
- Doctorate: MD or DO
- Pediatric residency in accredited program
- Full North Carolina physician medical license
- The ideal applicant will have experience/interest in quality improvement and medical education and have broad clinical experience
- The ideal candidate will be BC/BE in General Pediatrics and/or Hospital Pediatrics; however this is not a requirement
