Overview
An exciting part-time Ward Housekeeper opportunity to join the Ward 35 team. Ward 35 is a 26-bed ward caring for oncology and haematology patients. We are a forward-thinking ward-based team with a multidisciplinary approach including nursing staff, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, dietitians and healthcare assistants. Main duties of the job- Maintain a safe and clean ward environment with general housekeeping and tidying throughout the department. Duties may include kitchen/food hygiene, fridge monitoring, high level cleaning, laundry and waste disposal.
- Support qualified staff in adhering to Infection Control policies and procedures; assist in other duties to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
- Maintain cleanliness throughout the ward daily, ensuring bed space areas are free from clutter.
- Stock up and order supplies used within the ward using a computer ordering system.
- Decontaminate equipment used within the ward.
- General housekeeping duties and nutritional support to assist nursing staff; daily ordering of kitchen stock.
- Monitor and check patients' property and valuables; undertake clerical duties as required.

DetailedJob Description and Main Responsibilities
- Be an effective member of the multi-disciplinary team assisting the Ward/Department to maintain a safe, clean and comfortable environment for patients, families and visitors.
- Report concerns regarding a patient’s condition to the qualified nurse.
- Maintain patient privacy and dignity at all times.
- Report to the Nurse in Charge any issues that may prevent cleaning or compromise safety.
- Contribute to the provision of nutrition for patients on the Ward/Department.
- May undertake administrative and clinical duties as required.
- Abide by Trust policies and procedures.

Qualifications
- Essential: NVQ Level 2 in an appropriate subject (or on pathway) or equivalent qualification/experience
