King’s College School, Cascais is seeking responsible and committed Summer Camp Day Monitors to support the wellbeing, safety and supervision of boarding and day students during the Summer Camp programme running from 24 June to 25 July 2026
. Reporting directly to the Summer Camp Boarding Coordinator, the post-holder will play an important role in providing excellent pastoral care, supervising daily routines and supporting offsite excursions, while ensuring that students are safe, supported and following school procedures at all times.

The role follows a daytime working pattern during the week, with additional duties on arrival and departure weekends and flexibility required for rota-based cover and emergencies.

• Provide excellent pastoral care for boarding and day students, supporting physical, mental and emotional wellbeing and maintaining appropriate discipline.
• Ensure students follow all boarding and school procedures, including sign in/out, mealtimes, bedtime routines, medication and night‑time procedures.
• Ensure students are never left unattended, including during offsite excursions.
• Work closely with the Camp Director, Deputies and Boarding Coordinator, communicating any concerns immediately.
• Chaperone students on offsite excursions, following all safety instructions.
• Attend all staff meetings and training sessions.
• Take responsibility for materials used during activities and keep all areas clean and tidy.
• Be on call and respond appropriately to incidents, fire, intruder alerts or other emergencies.
• Support first aid and health issues for campers alongside the Camp Director, Deputies and Nurse.
• Support arrival and departure days (Saturdays and Sundays), including welcoming families and assisting with airport transfers.
• Work flexibly within a rota system and be available to assist when required.
• Follow school policies, staff handbook guidelines, uniform expectations, health and safety and safeguarding procedures at all times.

• Advanced or Proficient English language skills (C1–C2 level required).
• Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
• Willingness to follow school procedures and staff handbook guidelines.
• Commitment to safeguarding and the welfare of children and young people.
• High standards of personal hygiene and professional appearance.
• Awareness of fire, health and safety regulations.
• Valid permission to work within the EU.
