Locum Consultant Neurologist (with interest in epilepsy) — Newcastle Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is one of the busiest and largest NHS hospital trusts in the country. We have around 16,000 staff and an annual budget of £1.7 billion. We are committed to equality and diversity and aim to recruit a workforce which reflects the communities we serve.
Newcastle Hospitals are proud to be an exemplar organisation across the NHS on sustainability, with a strategy including Net Zero targets. Main responsibilitiesThis locum post is based at the Royal Victoria Infirmary in the regional neurosciences centre for an initial period of one year, with the possibility of conversion to a substantive post. The post provides a general neurology service (acute and elective outpatient and inpatient work), a share of the out-of-hours on-call, and a specialist epilepsy service. There is a commitment to a local DGH (general neurology, epilepsy and inpatient liaison one day a week).
We are open to part-time working.
Within the epilepsy service we provide first seizure clinics, epilepsy surgery, adolescent transition, neuro-obstetrics, and learning disability/epilepsy clinics in addition to general/complex epilepsy clinics.
