Georgia Highlands College is a multi‑campus, state college member of the University System of Georgia. Founded in 1970 as Floyd Junior College, it now serves more than 6,000 students in Northwest Georgia and Northeast Alabama across its five locations. GHC currently offers over 30 areas of study with associate degree and bachelor’s degree options both in the classroom and online.
Job SummaryThis position is responsible for assisting customers, greeting customers when they enter the store, helping customers find specific products, assisting with the POS system, straightening inventory, restocking inventory, and other duties as assigned. This position is located at our Cartersville Campus. Candidates must be enrolled at GHC, reports to the Auxiliary Campus Coordinator, and has no supervisory responsibilities.
Responsibilities- Welcome customers into the store
- Stay knowledgeable about the products in the store
- Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing sales floor
- Restock inventory
- Assist with inventory counts
- Assist customers with sales and answer questions
- Understand and assist customers with the point‑of‑sale system
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Must be currently enrolled in a program of study at Georgia Highlands College.
- Must have knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Retail or other sales related experience preferred.
- Prior experience in position(s) of customer service preferred.
Proposed salary is $12.00 per hour with a maximum of 19 hours per week.
