Our Quality Control Lab Technician
The Quality Control Lab Technician is responsible for chemical, physical and/or microbiological analysis of beverage components and blends. Duties include preparing documentation and performing testing and analysis of samples to ensure quality and food safety standards are met.
Your Responsibilities- Verify that lab equipment is functioning properly by performing and documenting calibrations on a daily or weekly basis depending on equipment.
- Conduct physical and chemical analysis such as brix, moisture, acidity, pH, etc. of beverages, syrups, flavors and raw materials throughout the entire production process.
- Perform sensory analysis on all bulks and finished product throughout the shift.
- Conduct filling line quality inspections on the production floor which includes temperature checks, torques, weights and packaging checks.
- Verify the effectiveness of cleaning and sanitation procedures by performing pre and post‑operational inspections of production equipment as well as performing ATP swabbing.
- Confidently make batch adjustments when a product is out of specification, such as adding acid or base to a sample.
- Place product on hold when it does not meet quality and/or food safety specifications and communicate to the appropriate parties.
- Maintain a clean laboratory environment, including daily cleaning of benchtops and equipment and restocking of supplies.
- Support investigations of customer complaint issues as needed.
- Collect and send customers’ production samples as requested.
- Collect and send samples required for third‑party testing.
- Adhere to and enforce internal standards concerning hygiene, HACCP, food/quality, and job safety.
- Work and communicate closely with production personnel.
- Maintain an organized, safe, and health‑conscious work environment.
- Enter and maintain information in the ERP (SAP) system.
- Maintain and complete batch records for all products.
- Maintain the upkeep and organization of the retain area.
- Associate’s degree in a science‑related field.
- 2+ years’ experience in a laboratory environment.
- SAP knowledge is a plus.
