Fork Lift Operator

The Extrusion Forklift Operator is responsible for safely operating forklifts to move materials, maintaining production flow, work-in-process, and finished goods in support of extrusion operations.

JOB DUTIES:

• Safely operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment in an extrusion manufacturing environment
• Transport raw materials, dies, pallets, scrap, and finished products to and from extrusion lines and designated storage areas
• Load and unload materials from racks, staging areas, and trailers
• Supply production lines with required materials to meet production schedules
• Remove finished goods and scrap from production areas in a timely manner
• Perform required pre-shift forklift inspections and report unsafe conditions or equipment malfunctions
• Accurately complete material movement documentation, scanning, or inventory transactions
• Maintain housekeeping standards and comply with 5S or similar workplace organization practices
• Follow all OSHA regulations, safety procedures, and company policies
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, operators, and warehouse personnel
• Perform other duties as assigned to support business needs

• Prior forklift experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred
• Ability to read and understand work instructions, labels, and safety documentation
• Basic math and record-keeping skills
• Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety

• Frequently will push, pull, carry, and lift 50lbs.
• Frequent walking, standing, stretching, bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, grasping, and repetitive movements
• Occasionally required to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
• Frequently must be able to work in moderate noise, up to 83 decibels.
• Exposure to noise environment requires hearing protection.
• Must be able and willing to work in non-temperature-controlled environment, exposed to weather conditions.
