The Extrusion Forklift Operator is responsible for safely operating forklifts to move materials, maintaining production flow, work-in-process, and finished goods in support of extrusion operations.
JOB DUTIES:
- Safely operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment in an extrusion manufacturing environment
- Transport raw materials, dies, pallets, scrap, and finished products to and from extrusion lines and designated storage areas
- Load and unload materials from racks, staging areas, and trailers
- Supply production lines with required materials to meet production schedules
- Remove finished goods and scrap from production areas in a timely manner
- Perform required pre-shift forklift inspections and report unsafe conditions or equipment malfunctions
- Accurately complete material movement documentation, scanning, or inventory transactions
- Maintain housekeeping standards and comply with 5S or similar workplace organization practices
- Follow all OSHA regulations, safety procedures, and company policies
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, operators, and warehouse personnel
- Perform other duties as assigned to support business needs
- Prior forklift experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred
- Ability to read and understand work instructions, labels, and safety documentation
- Basic math and record-keeping skills
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety
- Frequently will push, pull, carry, and lift 50lbs.
- Frequent walking, standing, stretching, bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, grasping, and repetitive movements
- Occasionally required to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Frequently must be able to work in moderate noise, up to 83 decibels.
- Exposure to noise environment requires hearing protection.
- Must be able and willing to work in non-temperature-controlled environment, exposed to weather conditions.
