HR PAYROLL SPECIALIST

The Human Resource Payroll Specialist position is responsible for performing the day-to-day operations of processing of invoices for group benefit payments and processing both salaried and hourly payroll.
DescriptionWorking in conjunction with the HR Manager (Payroll & Benefits), the specialist will process all hourly payrolls in an efficient and timely manner and maintain the payroll and timekeeping system to accurately track hours worked and payroll history.
Responsibilities- Participate in negotiations with vendor or Broker for renewal.
- Collect experience/census data from available resources (as needed).
- Evaluate and revise internal processes to reduce costs and increase efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with applicable government regulations.
- Enrollments, COBRA, terminations, changes, beneficiaries, disability, accident and death claims.
- Oversee maintenance of employee benefit files and updating of employee payroll records.
- Gather employee data and oversee the processing of monthly billings and the preparation of vouchers for payment of administrative fees for all group plans.
- Perform plan audits as needed/required.
- Compile payroll data such as garnishments, vacation time, insurance and 401(k) deductions.
Poll electronic time clocks (E-time software) and review the downloaded information for completeness and accuracy. - Contact various department supervisors for any missed times.
- Process scheduled transfer of payroll data to ADP.
- Pull internal management reports from relevant HR software.
- Adhere to the policies and procedures of Hanwha Q CELLS USA, Inc.
- Perform other duties and special projects, as assigned by management.
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Experience with and working knowledge of benefit contracts.
- Solid understanding of payroll and payroll tax laws
- Strong knowledge of various benefit programs
- 1-2 years of ADP (or similar) experience and familiarity with relevant HRIS software
- Strong proficiency using and reporting using software including MS Office Suites
- Able to maintain confidential information.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Assertive, able to cope with pressure, a team player.
- Able to stand and walk the production area throughout the workday.
- Reaching, pushing, pulling, or lifting as required within limits set by Hanwha Q CELLS USA, Inc.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Experience in high tech manufacturing industry.
- Strong analytical skills and a thorough knowledge of plan designs. Ability to understand, evaluate and make judgment on the proposals (RFP’s).
- Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements both adopted and pending affecting employee benefit programs, including ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, SECTION 125, Workers Compensation, Medicare, and Social Security and DOL requirements.
