As an ultrasound technician, you will operate ultrasound equipment to perform clinical diagnostic ultrasound exams and routine invasive procedures according to established standards and practices. You will provide patient services utilizing ultrasound equipment, demonstrate knowledge of cross‑sectional anatomy and pathology, and provide patient care to all age groups, including neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients. Effective communication with staff and radiologists is essential.

• Operate ultrasound equipment to perform clinical diagnostic ultrasound exams and routine invasive procedures according to established standards and practices; provide patient services utilizing ultrasound equipment; demonstrate knowledge of cross‑sectional anatomy and pathology; provide patient care to all age groups (neonatal, pediatric, adult, geriatric); communicate effectively with staff and radiologists.

Education:

• Graduate of an AMA approved Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program or JRCERT accredited hospital‑based training program (Required)
• In lieu of certificate, equivalent experience according to Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) (Required)

Work Experience:

• No experience required (Required)
• 1 year of experience (Preferred)

Licenses and

Certifications:

• BCLS - Basic Life Support (Required)
• ARDMS - Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonography (must become registered by the ARDMS within 6 months of employment) (Required)
• Vascular Sonographers: must become registered and/or hold RVT, RVS, RT(S), RT(VS) within 6 months of employment (Required)
• BR – ARDMS or ARRT - Breast Sonography (registration through ARRT (BS) meets the Breast Ultrasound requirement) (Required)
• RVT – Registered Vascular Technologist (Preferred)
• RVS – Registered Vascular Sonographer (Preferred)
