Operating from the Cartersville, Georgia facility, APN Res-Tek LLC manufactures resinous flooring and industrial coating systems used in demanding commercial and industrial environments. Position SummaryThe Accountant supports the day-to-day accounting operations of APN Res-Tek LLC by maintaining accurate financial records and assisting with core accounting processes. Reporting to the Controller, this role contributes to general ledger reconciliations, journal entries, and monthly close activities while ensuring financial records are complete and compliant with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). This position requires strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to work effectively in a manufacturing environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesCore Accounting Functions
- Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger.
- Perform account reconciliations and investigate variances.
- Process and record accounts payable transactions.
- Maintain supporting documentation for financial transactions.
- Assist with intercompany account reconciliations.
- Assist with monthly and year-end close activities.
- Prepare supporting schedules used in financial reporting.
- Review account activity to identify discrepancies or unusual transactions.
- Support timely completion of monthly close processes.
- Maintain organized accounting records and documentation.
- Follow established accounting procedures and internal control practices.
- Assist with audit requests and related documentation as required.
- Work with internal departments to obtain information necessary for accurate financial reporting.
- Respond to routine accounting inquiries from internal stakeholders.
- Provide support to the accounting team on additional projects as assigned.
Experience
- Two to five years of accounting experience.
- Manufacturing or industrial accounting experience preferred.
- ERP system experience required; SAGE
500 experience preferred. - Experience assisting with month-end close processes.
- Working knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting practices.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
