Overview
Chemical Cleaning Technician. Job Location s US-NJ-Carteret. Function:
Production. Bruker OST is a leading provider of advanced scientific instruments and solutions for molecular and materials research, as well as industrial and applied analysis. With ISO 45001 certification, we emphasize safety and quality. The role involves preparation of chemical batches and chemical etch cleaning of components used in manufacturing superconducting wire. Successful candidates must closely follow written work instructions and complete manufacturing process documentation.
Training is provided; this position operates on a 2nd shift with first shift training.
- Proficiently use measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers
- Assist in the assembly of etch cleaned parts in a clean room
- Assist in development and revision of etch cleaning procedures as needed
- Maintain well organized manufacturing paperwork
- Support and help improve Lean manufacturing practices
- Work comfortably as part of a team on some tasks, and with minimal supervision at other times
- Willingness to work overtime as the production schedule requires
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1-3 years of experience working with chemicals in a laboratory manufacturing environment
- Proficiency to communicate in English including reading and writing skills
- Ability to read and interpret procedures and calibrated equipment
- Ability to read and understand all safety operating procedures and to use all safety features and equipment
- Must be capable of lifting 50 pounds
- Experience working with 55-gallon drum quantities of acids and chemicals in a manufacturing environment
- Utilizing strong math skills to track chemical mixing and etch cleaning processes
- Familiarity with risks associated with hazardous chemicals and how to work safely with them
- Must be a Permanent Resident or US Citizen; sponsorship is not available for this role
- Reliable transportation to the site
Salary:
Bruker offers a base salary within an hourly range of $21.00/hr to $30.00/hr for this full-time role, with eligibility for overtime and a full benefits package including 401(k) with company match, employee stock purchase plan, medical and dental plans, life insurance, disability insurance, paid time off, and more. The base salary is determined by factors such as education, experience, and location.
Shift: This is a 2nd shift position with working hours from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, Monday–Friday. Training for this position will be on the first shift, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
