Senior Inventory Controller

Marathon Petroleum Company LP has an opportunity for a Senior Inventory Controller. This position will report to the Inventory Control Manager.

The Inventory Controller will be responsible for supporting material control processes, including maintaining proper stocking levels, performing robust inventory reviews, optimizing inventory, executing reports, plus providing and capturing value for the organization and Company. The objective of this position will be to develop and manage inventory control strategies that support organizational "Run the Business" goals. The qualified candidate will understand Marathon’s material management program and the functional and strategic roles of material control activities utilized by the department.

Candidates must be dynamic self-starters who work collaboratively, are results oriented, and driven by continuous improvement. This position may occasionally provide backup support to the Supply Chain Operations – Materials Management Master Data team, Warehouse Leaders, and other members of the Supply Chain Operations – Inventory Control team. Candidates must also possess the skills necessary to support material master records and have a foundation of warehouse operations.

• Reviews and replenishes inventory at multiple Company locations.
• Converts planned orders to purchase requisitions for sourcing.
• Schedules transfers from same plant to fulfill requirements.
• Schedules transfers from other plants to fulfill requirements.
• Converts repairable items for in-house repair or third-party repair.
• Focuses on collaborating with stakeholders.
• Reviews and converts Turnaround and Project demand requirements at multiple Company locations.
• Integrates inventories across multiple locations by maintaining a “one warehouse” mindset.
• Performs robust inventory reviews to include stockouts and items at risk of stockouts, inventory optimization, ABC classifications, forecasting demand based on planned activities or seasonality, supplier stocking programs such as VMI and Consignment opportunities, unfulfilled or canceled work order reservations and affected inventories, surplus, obsolete, and overstock material management.
• Participates, identifies, and leads inventory management continuous improvement projects aimed at optimizing inventory.
• Provides support for Company audits as needed.
• Completes Supply Chain compliance control review assessments.
• Reports on value creation activities.
• Partners with stakeholders.

  Required:
  
  Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited University focused in Business, Operations, or Supply Chain Management.
• Experience Preferred: 4 or more years of experience in Inventory Management, Materials Management, or other related Supply Chain discipline.
• Travel required, up to 10%
• Recommended Proficiencies: SAP, Advanced Excel, APICS/ISM coursework related to inventory management and warehousing.
