Lead CMM Programmer​/Quality Engineer

Overview

Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) programming and setup methodology development; recommend fixturing for A&R’s Hexagon Metrology Global Chrome S and Browne & Sharpe CMMs using PC-DMIS 2018 & 2019 to inspect tightly toleranced customer parts with multiple datums and profiles.

• Create CMM programs utilizing customer supplied solid models.
• Conduct CMM inspection of new or complex parts and generate required AS9102 1st article reports to support shipments and new customer qualification parts.
• Experience filling out and submitting AS9102 First Articles utilizing Net-Inspect on-line software is a plus.
• Utilize CMM experience to train other inspectors and CNC lead personnel in program usage and quick setup fixturing to inspect repeat parts or jobs.
• Conduct in-process inspection of all A&R Engineering products, including mechanical inspection of critical features per part blueprint and Job Order requirements; some features may be denoted by "In-Process Prints" or "Green Sheets".
• Competence in complex surface plate and/or open setups using standard inspection tools (height master, sine plate, hand tools, gauges, etc.).
• Review and verify required Job Order sign-offs and ensure production first articles are complete and any required SPC has been completed.
• Create inspection plans for new parts or revisions; review and update part Item Operations Descriptions for inspection sequences; review and update inspection plans for existing products to address issues from in-process inspection, internal audits, or customer feedback.
• Learn setup and operation of A&R Optical Comparators and Keyence IM Vision systems to assist in performing in-process inspections and AS9102 1st Article inspections; attend training as needed to enhance skills with A&R s CMMs.
• Assist in training other A&R Inspectors to enhance mechanical inspection techniques on difficult parts.
• Assist in creating AS9102 1st Article Inspection reports as directed by Quality Manager or Director of Operations.
• Salary range: $35-$48/hr.

• Experience with PC-DMIS 2018 & 2019 and CMM programming for Hexagon Metrology equipment.
• Ability to program and perform CMM inspections and generate AS9102 First Articles.
• Familiarity with Net-Inspect online software is a plus.
• Ability to train other inspectors and CNC leads in programming and fixturing for repeat parts.
• Proficiency in complex surface plate setups and use of standard inspection tools (height master, sine plate, hand tools, gauges).
• Experience creating and reviewing inspection plans and Job Order sign-offs; knowledge of SPC requirements.
• Willingness to learn and operate A&R Optical Comparators and Keyence IM Vision systems.

Salary range: $82,000.00-$93,000.00 (example positions listed by location include related ranges).
