Come and join our Aquatics team. Be the welcoming face of Carson’s aquatic programs as a Cashier Clerk with the Community Services / Recreation / Park Maintenance Department. In this important frontline role, you will create positive first impressions for families and residents visiting our pools and aquatic facilities. From assisting guests with registrations and admissions to providing friendly, helpful service, you help ensure every visitor feels valued and supported.
Your professionalism and customer care will set the tone for safe, enjoyable, and memorable aquatic experiences for our community.
These positions are part-time/temporary, at-will (FLSA: Non-Exempt) positions that are limited to a maximum of 960 hours per fiscal year. Part-time employees are not typically eligible for benefits; however, they may qualify for health coverage and sick leave accruals subject to applicable federal and state provisions.
Mandatory Program Participation Dates- May 30 & May 31, 2026:
Aquatics Summer In-Service - June 4, 2026:
Community Services / Recreation / Park Maintenance Department - Summer In-Service
Under close supervision, receives and accounts for cash at a community swimming pool; registers participants for swim lessons and aquatic programs; and performs related duties as required. (These functions are representative and may not be present in all positions in the class. Management reserves the right to add, modify, change or rescind related duties and work assignments.)
A typical way to obtain the requisite qualifications to perform the duties of this class is as follows:
Education and ExperienceCompletion of formal education sufficient to assure the ability to read and write and perform basic arithmetical calculations at the level required for successful job performance.
Knowledge of- Basic arithmetic.
- Correct English usage.
- Telephone etiquette.
- Basic computer skills.
- Perform mathematical calculations.
- Operate an adding machine and computer keyboard.
- Effectively communicate in English orally and in writing.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships and deal tactfully with the public.
- Organize and maintain records.

- The Cashier Clerk would generally work at the City of Carson's swimming pools.
This recruitment will remain open on a continuous basis until all positions are filled. To be considered, please submit an online application.
