Overview

Wham O is hiring a Creative Director to lead the evolution of the brand’s packaging, product graphics, and overall visual expression.

This role exists to elevate how the brand shows up on shelf, on product, at retail, and at trade shows as the business continues to scale globally. Packaging is a central creative focus of this position.

This is a hands on creative leadership role with real authority. You will be expected to originate bold ideas, reset visual direction where needed, and build systems that allow a global design team to execute consistently at scale.

The Role

The Creative Director is the final authority on how Wham O looks, feels, and communicates across packaging, product graphics, campaigns, trade shows, and retail environments.

You will personally lead the creative rethinking of packaging and on product graphics, defining new visual directions that are distinctive, ownable, and scalable. From there, you will translate those ideas into clear templates, rules, and systems that the Hong Kong design team can replicate across hundreds of SKUs.

This role requires strong creative judgment, originality, and the ability to make decisive calls when execution does not meet the brand standard.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the creative evolution of all packaging and on product graphics.
  • Originate new visual concepts including layouts, color systems, typography, iconography, and storytelling approaches that improve shelf impact and brand recognition.
  • Packaging systems exist to scale strong ideas. You are expected to create the ideas first.
Visual Systems and Templates
  • Build clear and practical creative systems that allow the Hong Kong design team to execute efficiently and consistently.
  • Ensure creative intent is preserved at scale and across categories.
  • Any deviation from system escalates to you.
Trade Shows and Retail Expression
  • Own creative direction for trade shows, booths, large format graphics, and retail displays.
  • Ensure trade shows and retail environments feel like physical extensions of the packaging and brand, not separate design exercises.
Social Media Brand Expression
  • Provide creative direction and visual guardrails for brand expression on social media to ensure consistency with packaging, retail, campaigns, and trade show visuals.
  • Partner with marketing and social teams to align major launches and brand moments with the broader visual system.
How You Will Work
  • You will partner closely with brand and product leadership to understand commercial goals while retaining ownership of creative decisions.
  • You will work with a Hong Kong based design team that executes across large SKU counts.
  • You define the creative vision and systems.
  • They execute and scale.
Who We Are Looking For
  • A senior creative leader with a strong portfolio of consumer product packaging work.
  • Demonstrated ability to originate packaging concepts and visual systems, not just refine existing ones.
  • Deep understanding of retail shelf behavior and physical brand expression.
  • Comfortable being hands on creatively while also leading through systems and clarity.
  • Able to make clear decisions and defend them with reasoning, not preference.
