Overview
The Lockbox Processing Clerk supports daily lockbox and payment processing operations by accurately batching, processing, and balancing incoming payments. This role requires hands-on experience with lockbox workflows and the ability to clearly identify and process Retail, Wholesale, and Whotail payments. The ideal candidate has prior lockbox or payment processing experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a high-volume environment.
Responsibilities- Perform end-to-end lockbox payment processing, including batching, balancing, and encoding deposits.
- Accurately identify, separate, and process Retail, Wholesale, and Whotail payments.
- Extract and prepare documents such as checks, EOBs, invoices, correspondence, and envelopes for processing.
- Review and interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and distinguish medical documents from Retail and Wholesale payments.
- Ensure accuracy of batches using 10-key keypad calculations by sight.
- Generate processing reports, statements, and deposit documentation.
- Photocopy, sort, and organize incoming work according to processing requirements.
- Prepare and mail outbound materials as required.
- Operate departmental equipment including Opex 150, NCR 7780, and Mail Sorter machines.
- Maintain compliance with processing timelines, quality standards, and security procedures.
- Support general production and operational tasks as assigned.
- 1-2 years of hands-on lockbox or payment processing experience (required).
- Proven experience in batching and processing lockbox payments for Retail, Wholesale, and Whotail.
- Strong ability to read, identify, and classify payment types accurately.
- Experience extracting and handling checks, EOBs, invoices, and correspondence.
- Proficient in data entry and deposit encoding.
- Ability to perform basic math using a 10-key keypad by sight.
- Familiarity with lockbox or processing equipment such as Opex 150, NCR 7780, or similar systems.
- High attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Capability to stand or sit for extended periods.
- Prolonged use of computers and other electronic equipment.
- Fast-paced, high-volume processing environment requiring accuracy, consistency, and efficiency.
Work days/hours:
Monday - Friday; 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
