Emergency Department Nurse Manager

Responsible for the leadership, coordination and supervision of the specified unit(s) under their purview. Primary duties include responsibility for day to day operations, financial accountability, and upholding quality and patient safety standards. They will have direct oversight, where applicable, of the supervisor(s), charge nurses, nursing and support staff. The Nurse Manager will plan, direct and evaluate total nursing care. Practices within the scope prescribed by the Nevada Nurse Practice Act.

Required:

• Current and unencumbered licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) through the Nevada State Board of Nursing
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as an acute care nurse and 2 years of experience in a progressive leadership role or equivalent past experience
• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing or currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree in nursing program from an accredited college or university

Preferred:

• Nationally recognized Certification in department specific specialty or related to Nursing Leadership
