Position: Quality Assurance Test Technician I

Job Overview

Tests, inspects, or measures internally manufactured materials or procured products to verify compliance with Click Bond or customer‑furnished engineering drawings and procedures. Completes associated documentation and reports. Makes entries in the Click Bond MAX/MRP system and Access database.

Carson City, NV. Salary: $45,000.00–$60,000.00.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Use inspection devices (micrometer, caliper, optical comparator, etc.) to determine product compliance with engineering drawings, purchase orders, and associated aerospace specifications.
  • Produce reports of inspection/test acceptance or non‑conformance and make appropriate computer entries.
  • Use programs in the computerized test machines.
  • Prepare materials for test applications, including but not limited to machine work, abrasive blasting, hand scraping, abrasion, and meticulous cleaning under the supervision of the Test Area Lead or Senior Test Technician.
  • Mix and apply adhesives per appropriate documentation.
  • Assist in the thermal, mechanical, and chemical conditioning of test samples.
  • Perform mechanical testing of test samples including operation of computerized screw‑drive test machines under the supervision of Test Area Lead or Senior Test Technician.
  • Assist other personnel in the test department.
  • Maintain the test area, equipment, and test samples in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Other duties as requested or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Speaks clearly and confidently in all situations; listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions.
  • Writes clearly and informatively; edits work for spelling and grammar; presents numerical data effectively.
  • Able to read and interpret aerospace engineering drawings, procedures and written information.
  • Exhibits sound and accurate judgment and includes appropriate people in the decision‑making process.

  • Follows written and verbal instructions, responds to management direction; takes responsibility for own actions; keeps commitments.
  • Completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person of an alternate plan.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • High School diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) and a minimum of 1 year of related experience and/or training.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
  • Able to read and interpret documents such as aerospace procedures, engineering requirements, safety rules, and quality assurance manuals with some assistance.
  • Able to write routine reports and correspondence. Able to speak effectively.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
  • Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Able to compute rate, ratio, and percent with some assistance.
COMPUTER SKILLS

To perform this job successfully, basic computer navigation skills as well as experience with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, MAX/MRP inventory software, and manufacturing software are required.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Pursuit of certification recognized by a professional organization (e.g., ASQ) is encouraged.

  • Frequently required to stand; reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally required to walk; sit and stoop, bend, kneel or crouch.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
  • Close vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus; occasional microscope work is required.
