- Link Technologies (), a Las Vegas-based IT consulting firm, is currently looking for an IT Project Manager 2 to join our team.
This position functions as an IT Project Manager. The incumbent plans, organizes, directs, manages and ensures the successful implementation of information technology projects; conducts project initiation; is involved in contract negotiation; preparing solicitations, RFIs and RFPs; develops scope of work and execution strategies; manages projects using current and relevant project management methodologies; resolves conflicts; develops project schedules; develops project budgets; oversees resource allocation and justifies the need for additional resources;
develops and oversees application, data administration and/or system testing and quality control initiatives; and coordinates activities with technology, business and programs work units within and outside the organization as required. The incumbent works with IT Professionals, IT Technicians, Business Process Analysts, Subject Matter Experts, or other technical and/or business and administrative staff during projects.
This position may be in Las Vegas or Carson City depending on the location of the chosen candidate and the needs of the agency.
Daily Activities relating to Assignments, Preparation and Execution: - Project Management
- Utilize professional project management skills such as the PMI PMBOK principles to manage the full lifecycle of Division and Department projects of small, medium, and large size and complexity. Effectively prioritize and organize project tasks. Multi-task efficiently on concurrent projects with frequent interruptions, overlapping and changing priorities and deadlines, and diverse stakeholders.
- Customer Satisfaction and Professional Conduct
- Provide quality customer service internally and externally, utilizing all relevant professional skills, including, but not limited to, language and computer skills. Exhibit professional and respectful behavior to staff, customers, and the public. This includes exhibiting a positive attitude, being dependable, and maintaining cooperative and productive relationships with co-workers, supervisors, and subordinates. Customer service is essential as is the ability to communicate effectively with staff and other agencies.
- Project Initiation
- Work with stakeholders, management and vendors to develop or obtain pre-Initiation Phase project documentation, quotes, demonstrations, etc., including Requests for Information (RFI), Requests for Proposal (RFP), vendor quotes, Technology Investment Notifications (TIN), Cloud Investment Notifications (CIN), Solicitation Waivers, Contracts, Work Plans, Grants, Interlocal Agreements and IT Consultant contracts.
- Analyze legislative bills, grants, and federal guidance to determine scope and authority of the project. Coordinate with Department and Division staff to develop and document current and new system requirements, workflows, systems design, and scopes of work.
- Project Security
- Monitor and manage all aspects of project security according to federal, state, Department, Division and Agency regulations, policies, standards, and procedures. Ensure team members are continuously considering project security when discussing and completing tasks.
- Work with Division Information Security Office (ISO) to determine necessary project security considerations and approvals. Protect sensitive personal and health related information in accordance with federal, state, Department, Division and Agency regulations, policies, standards, and procedures. Use and disclose protected Personally Identifiable Information (PII) only in accordance with established federal, state, Department, Division and Agency regulations, policies, standards, and procedures.
- Project Management Office (PMO):
Teamwork and Continuous Improvement - Coordinate the creation of necessary project teams and committees. Delegate project tasks to staff, vendors, and state and local agencies. Monitor to ensure that tasks are accurately completed on time, within budget and with a high degree of quality. Actively…
