Helpdesk Technician 3
Duration: 3 to 5 months – 100% on site in Carson City, NV.
Work requirements: U.S. citizen, green‑card holder, or authorized to work in the U.S.
Compensation$25.00/hr – $30.00/hr (based on skills and experience).
Experience and Skills Required- High school graduation or equivalent.
- Five years of experience with computer systems, operating systems, applications, and peripherals, with at least three years in a user support role.
- Detailed knowledge of: commercially available operating systems and applications used by the agency; help‑desk application configuration for change/problem management; principles and practices of computer systems and peripheral devices; user password security principles.
- Working knowledge of: database principles; network domains and login procedures; web browser capabilities and the difference between intranets and the Internet.
- General knowledge of at least one programming language (Pascal, COBOL, Natural, Fortran, BASIC, or HTML) as it applies to queries used in common applications; network troubleshooting.
- Ability to create and use disk images; develop documentation of systems, jobs, and programs; provide testing support and review computer output; restore data from backup media.
- Detailed knowledge of agency departmental policies and procedures related to help‑desk support and change/problem management plans.
- Working knowledge of hardware and software specific to an agency.
- Ability to train and lead assigned personnel and monitor operations in the absence of a supervisor.
- Pass a criminal background check before starting work.
- Work Pacific Time hours, Mon‑Fri, 8 AM–5 PM on site.
