Enterprise Solution Architect

$87 on 1099 / $75 W2 - HYBRID – Located in Carson City, NV (50% onsite allowance). Designed for candidates with 3‑5 years of solution architecture experience in state or public‑sector environments.

The Nevada Secretary of State’s Office seeks a Solution Architect to support the Orion Program. The role will lead enterprise‑architecture activities, build and manage the portfolio of solutions, and streamline the state’s online business licensing services. Key responsibilities include developing API integration tools, assisting with data cleansing, migration, and report generation, and ensuring solutions align with architectural principles and governance.

• Translate business and technical requirements into architectural blueprints and documentation.
• Collaborate with portfolio leadership and project teams to maintain a robust architectural runway.
• Assess current solution states, identify deficiencies, and recommend upgrades or retirements.
• Support product managers in end‑of‑life decisions and emerging technology selection.
• Develop roadmaps for the evolution of the enterprise solution portfolio.
• Provide architectural designs that guide product and service development.
• Deliver governance activities such as solution assurance, compliance, and standard definition.
• Generate deliverables including requirements traceability documents, architectural designs, and integration tool specifications.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or related field.
• Three to five years of proven solution‑architecture experience with measurable business outcomes.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to plan and deliver on time.
• Experience with Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Visio) is a plus.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
