What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
  • Oversee timely and accurate coding of all facility outpatient visits and coding audits
  • Manage operations related to denials, claim edits, and charge capture for reimbursement
  • Conduct audits of medical records for coding accuracy and compliance
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to achieve organizational goals
  • Monitor employee training, productivity, quality, and overall performance of coding specialists
What is Required (Qualifications)
  • Bachelor’s degree in health information administration or equivalent degree
  • Minimum of 3 years of medical coding and/or revenue management experience
  • Seven years of relevant industry experience in outpatient medical coding and revenue cycle operations preferred
  • Required certifications may include RHIT, RHIA, CCS, or COC (outpatient credential only)
  • Knowledge and experience with electronic health records and health information management applications
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
  • Previous management experience in a healthcare setting
  • Experience with ICD-10-CM diagnoses, HCC coding, and CPT-4 procedure codes
  • Proven ability to collaborate with various stakeholders within a healthcare system
  • Strong understanding of billing rules and compliance requirements
