Overview
As a Controls Engineer II, you will independently perform tasks related to the design, implementation, and support of control systems. You will take ownership of small projects and contribute significantly to larger ones, while deepening your technical expertise.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement control systems for industrial applications using PLC, HMI, and SCADA technologies.
- Conduct testing, debugging, and commissioning of control systems.
- Create and maintain detailed electrical schematics, control panel layouts, and wiring diagrams.
- Troubleshoot existing control systems to improve reliability and performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on system upgrades and new installations.
- Report immediately all suspicious and hazardous conditions to a supervisor.
- Understand and observe all safety guidelines and assure quality and safety by complying with all appropriate CB policies and procedures.
- Assist in maintaining clean, orderly, and hazard-free work areas.
- Able to work with minimal supervision, be a self-starter and be detail oriented.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Proficiency in PLCs (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi).
- Familiarity with PLC Programming (ladder logic, structured text, function block).
- Intermediate knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Modbus, CC-Link).
- Experience with HMI and SCADA systems (e.g., Ignition, Wonderware, or Rockwell Studio).
- Intermediate knowledge of programming languages like Python, C++, or MATLAB.
- Experience with CAD tools for electrical and control panel design (e.g., Solid Works Electrical, AutoCAD).
- Knowledge of power distribution and design.
- Experience setting up motor controls, VFDs and contractors.
- Experience deploying field devices, sensors, and solenoids.
- Experience deploying of servo motors and controls.
- Ability to write and read English.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, automation engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in controls engineering or industrial automation.
- Hands-on experience with PLCs, HMIs, and industrial network communication systems.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Use of hand/fingers continuously through shift to manipulate components, tools, etc.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to focus.
- Regularly required to sit or stand for the length of shift, bend, and reach.
- Manufacturing areas may be exposed to noise, smells, heat, dust, etc. Work requires the observance of fire regulations and safe work practices.

- Actively listens to others and supports the team environment.
- Asks questions and learns from mistakes.
- Executes tasks with minimal errors in a timely and efficient manner.
